It is anticipated that in 2026 we will move to a new examination process for all Full Member Interns. Members will be notified once the process has been finalised. 

The current Mid Term Examination is an online exam via MS Teams and is held on a time and date that suits both the candidate and examiner. The Mid Term is typically sat towards the end of Level 2 supervision. The cost of the exam is $150.

The Mid Term exam runs for approximately 30 minutes with one examiner present. The examiner will be supplied with two short case studies. The candidates will be asked questions based around auditory pathologies and hearing assessment techniques relating to those case studies. Candidates must be deemed competent in both case studies to pass the exam. Results are typically provided within 24 hours. 

A candidate who has been deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) for the first or second time, may not resit the examination for a period of one (1) month and must remain under Level 2 supervision conditions during this period.

If a candidate is unsuccessful in this particular examination on their third attempt, their Full Member – Intern status will be changed to Affiliate Membership. Please note, as an Affiliate Member you are no longer able to carry out any clinical duties or the internship program with ACAud inc. HAASA.
