Clinical Certification

Supporting Safe, Competent and Contemporary Hearing Care

Clinical Certification ensures clinicians meet ACAud inc. HAASA Professional competency standards and deliver safe, high-quality care.

It is separate from membership and requires both initial assessment and ongoing professional development.

Whether you are entering the profession, progressing toward advanced clinical practice, or transitioning from overseas qualifications, ACAud certification pathways are designed to support safe, competent and contemporary hearing care practice across Australia.

Demonstrates Clinical Competency

Certification confirms clinicians have met recognised professional competency standards.

Supported Internship Pathways

Emerging clinicians undertake supervised clinical development through approved internship pathways.

Ongoing Professional Development

Certification is maintained through continuing professional education and ongoing clinical practice.

Current Professional Recognition

Certified clinicians hold current competency certification relevant to their scope of practice.

Clinical Certification confirms that clinicians possess the necessary skills and knowledge of practice in accordance with the ACAud inc. HAASA Professional Competency Standards.

Clinical certification is distinct from membership and involves a separate process. All new clinicians are required to complete an internship to obtain clinical certification. In subsequent years, this certification is maintained through regular clinical practice and continuing professional education.

Fellow and Full Members who practice clinically, must hold a Competency Certificate in at least one field of specialty. Once granted certification, clinicians must maintain their Competency Certificate through regular clinical practice and our Continuing Education Program. Current certificates should be displayed by clinicians in a space where they are clearly visible to patients/clients.
