Domestic Qualified Audiometrist

Domestic Qualified Audiometrist

The ACAud Clinical Internship (ACI) Pathway for Domestic Audiometrists has been developed to support clinicians progressing toward expanded clinical competency and independent rehabilitation-focused practice within Australia’s hearing care workforce.

The pathway provides structured supervision, competency development and professional assessment aligned with ACAud clinical certification standards.

Domestic Audiometrists undertaking the pathway are required to successfully complete:

• the Clinical Application Performance Examination (CAPE); and • the Knowledge Integration Test (KIT).

The CAPE and KIT pathway has been developed to assess clinical competency, professional reasoning, patient safety and rehabilitation-focused practice consistent with ACAud certification requirements.

Applicants undertaking the CAPE and KIT supported internship pathway may be eligible for earlier progression within the ACAud clinical certification pathway, subject to applicable ACAud certification requirements.

All applicants must successfully meet applicable examination, supervision, portfolio and certification requirements, including final supervisor endorsement and ACAud approval processes, prior to independent clinical certification.
