Code of Conduct

In 2016, the professional bodies representing audiologists and audiometrists in Australia collaborated to develop a joint Code of Conduct for their members.

In July 2018, Audiology Australia (AudA) and the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud) established the independent Ethics Review Committee (ERC) to enable a consistent approach to advice and the handling of complaints related to hearing services provided by their members (audiologists and audiometrists). You can read more about the ERC here https://auderc.org.au/

The Code of Conduct was reviewed in 2020 through a collaboration between the ERC and Audiology Australia and ACAud. Feedback was also sought and received from members of AudA and ACAud and other key stakeholders.

Members of Audiology Australia and the Australian College of Audiology must display or make available, along with their current membership and/or
competency certificates, a Summary of the Code of
Conduct and inform clients about how they can make a complaint.
