What is a Hearing Rehabilitation Audiologist?
A Hearing Rehabilitation Audiologist (HR Audiologist) is an overseas-qualified audiologist who has been certified by ACAud for hearing rehabilitation practice. The title recognises the practitioner’s existing audiology qualification and the professional certification they hold with ACAud.
What kind of care do they provide?
HR Audiologists provide a defined restricted scope focused on hearing rehabilitation, including screening and diagnostic hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and management, hearing rehabilitation, counselling and ongoing hearing support. The credential does not include ACAud’s broader Audiologist clinical certification.
